I don't really know what the fucking deal is with eyeshadow being so expensive but at $20 per teeny little pot, it better be made of gold flakes and panda hearts. If I'm shelling out an abundance of cash on some lid paint, that shit better stay ALL day, never smear, never crease and take me 10 minutes to wash off at night. Since such a dream doesn't exist, I'm going to review a few that I've found that work well and others that are just a waste. You may disagree and my trash shadows might be your treasures.
I have oily just about everything so my eyelids tend to run on the oily side. Bizarre, I know, but that's just how my world spins. Anyway...I always have the issue of the crease. I believe it's my shadow or maybe it's my eyeliner, I'm not really sure. Either way I get the crease ALL the time. The only way I keep it at bay is to use Mac's lid primer called Paint. It comes in a small tube that looks like paint. Go figure. This tube lasts me years as in plural! You only need a teeny tiny bit because it spreads really nicely and is creamy. I just use my finger to apply it over the lid but if you're a princess, I'm sure you have a brush in your arsenal that would work. This is the first item of makeup I put on. It COMPLETELY eliminates the crease, makes my shadow color brighter, does not smear or smudge and will last me an 8 hour day plus.
I use a lot of MAC eyeshadows but they can be pricey. I also use a lot of Clinique shadows but mainly the free ones that come in their bonuses. If you ever want to sample products, I highly recommend Clinique bonus time. The spring bonuses are coming out now. Every department store has a different one. It's a great way to try the face creams, serums, mascaras etc. I've never bought a tube of mascara because I get one free with every bonus. I have noticed they seem to recycle the same shadow colors a lot and I have about 4 pots of the same color.

Recently, I have discovered Urban Decay. I got the lid primer in a gift set on Black Friday for about $10. I loved the MAC primer so I thought I'd try new ones. I felt the Urban Decay was too thin and a little too creamy for my lids. If you don't have oily skin, this one might be perfect for you but no matter how little I put on, it just seemed like a mess and was too thin of a coat. I also don't feel like it has as much staying power as the MAC Paint. Urban Decay isn't a total bust though. They have some fantastic makeup setting sprays. You might think 'what the fuck do I need a setting spray for?' I did too but I tried a sample of it and loved it. Sometimes your makeup rubs off on a white scarf, your coat, if you rub your face or scratch it, sometimes your powder will be under your nails. It's disgusting but it's a hard knock life for us bitches. Anyway, they come in spray cans and it sets your powder and foundation so it doesn't rub off.
Since I loved that product so much, I sprung for one of their Naked shadow palettes. I got number 3. I have greenish/hazel eyes and I thought the pinks would make my peepers stand out more. I have to admit, I really love this palette. It was $54 regular price but if you open a Macy's card you get 15% off and they sometimes run an additional 15%-20% off cosmetic sales. My end price was about $40 which I didn't think was bad. At Clinique or MAC I'd pay well over $100 for 12 shadow colors. Please refer to my first paragraph...what the fuck do they make this shit out of that it's so damn expensive?! I also love this palette because there are a few highlighter colors, base colors and dark shading colors. They have some really cool shit online on how to apply eye makeup based on your eye shape. Here's a diagram I found on how to apply based on your eye shape. It took me a while to find it so enjoy the shit out of it. If it's too small you can click it to head over to smashbox.
