I have come across a new masacara I’ve been dying to share with you all. If you’re one of those poor souls who has to put 3 coats of your regular mascara on to get the thick, full effect you’re going for, this new lash coat is FOR YOU! I am a fan of MAC products in general but they are pretty pricey so I only buy things I feel I can’t live without from their store.
I received a trial size of MAC Zoom Lash Mascara with a promotion they were running. I’m always eager to try new products and was pumped when this arrived in the mail. One day I will do a subtle eye, the next day dramatic…just depends on what sparkle flies up my ass that day. When I want that thick, dramatic lash, I usually apply at least 2 coats of my regular mascara, let it dry and brush it out. It’s kind of a pain in the ass and leaves black flakes under my eyes that I have to wipe away.

MAC Zoom Lash Mascara is said to provide:
Major drama. Lasts all day. Creamy, velvety formula builds density and conditions. Feels light, supple. Ultra-sculpted brush has three-sided fibres to embrace and separate each lash, hugging every curve. Coats in one stroke from root to tip. No smudging.
Firstly, I do have to say this mascara lives up to its name in the conditioning and density department. My lashes don’t feel coarse, heavy or spider leggy. I have very fine hair, as you can see in the photo of my non-existent blonde eyebrows playing hide and seek with me, so even a light weight mascara usually makes my eyelids feel like there are dinosaurs hanging from them. About 10 minutes after I applied, I thought I forgot to put some on because I couldn’t feel it. I touched my eyes and still couldn’t feel it. I busted out my mini-mirror that I use to check for food in my grill and sure as shit, I didn’t forget.
I will give a caution. You really only need one coat of this liquid gold. If you over-apply you might not get the result you’re looking for so use sparingly. The beauty of mascara is I’ve never gone through an entire tube so it’s worth the money if it will last you 6 months. It is $16 and comes in a rich black and a lofty brown. I rarely see mascara other than black so it’s a nice option.
It does not smudge and it lasts me and entire work day and then some. My only complaint is that I don’t feel it separated the lashes as well as it could have. I still had to use my brush. Maybe I’m just brush obsessed and you’ll feel differently. I’d love to hear what you thought if you’ve tried it. You should be able to visit the MAC counter at your local department store and ask for a sample if you’re interested. If they don’t have any on hand, use their sample and give it a whirl.
I swear this shit is made of panda hearts
